I completed this piece just a few months after my graduation from college but the idea had been bouncing around in my head for several years. The notion that life is a balancing act between two dangerous extreems is one that had occoured to me at a very young age and expressing that visually became something of an obsession. I had done a number of drawings of figures inching along on tightropes but none of them really said what I wanted to say. In the end it was a question of scope, by combining all the drawings together to create an infinate space, I managed to hit upon the image I was looking for. I feel that this drawing 'speaks' so very clearly without words, which, in my opinion, means it is very successful. I'll continue to check out your site, for sure.
