The Paintings

Title: Genesis
Media: Acrylic on canvas
Date: Fall of 2002
Dimensions: 24"x 48"
Price: Sold
One of the first non-objective paintings I ever did and I still feel it is one of my strongest. The title refers to the passage in Genesis where God seperates the light from the darkness. I'm a bit fascinated by dichotomy...light and dark, positive and negative, good and evil...male and female. These are the sort of things I was thinking of when I did this painting.

I suggest this very respectfully... someone who can paint like this should also pick up a video camera and vlog. Bust out the moving images! Good work. Keep it up!

Very impressive. It's difficult to pick a favorite; while I'm typically partial to acrylics, I find myself drawn to the pen-and-ink, brush paintings, and sketchbook images. Excellent work...wonderful talent. Enjoyed the discussion earlier. Hope all is well there, as it is here.

Charles, this is Ben Parks from your fall Photoshop class. Just been doing a little restoration and coloring work for practice and for my grandmother and wanted to see what you thought of it, see what I could possible improve upon, etc. I lost your e-mail so drop me a line at:

Really wish you were back at LCC, I really enjoyed your class.
